Initiative is being implemented at Laing Middle School of Science and Technology in Mount Pleasant, SC. The essence of this initiative is to use STEM content throughout the curriculum to build technological literacy, and establish the real-world relevance and inter-relationships of all curriculum subjects. Distinctive features of this approach include using the engineering design process in all classes as a method for solving problems; addressing nationally recognized technological literacy standards concurrently with mandated subject-specific standards; and engaging students with cross-curricular problems and projects that involve practical applications of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. According to the results shown in tables 1 -5, the satisfactory level of attitude towards different servicesofin-timeinformationand communication resulted to be very high. Also,
from the responses we can see that almost 30%- 40% of users do not have satisfactory attitude towards the reliability of e-services of in-time/at any time information and communication. That is a good reason to look for what influences the stillhighpercentageofunsatisfaction, even though the percentage of users with very good
and outstanding attitude is very high 60%-70%. The results are shown in the following figures, fig. 5–fig. 10. We can see that the satisfactory levels of attitude towards the reliability e-SMS have shown the users whose levels of attitude towards all chosen services/ indicators X1–X7 described above is unsatisfactory. These issues are even more pertinent in such short-term programs in which adult educators (typically) have little or no familiarity with youth when they begin a program. In this poster,
we describe a two-week summer program for middle school girls that involves topics such as fashion and dance to introduce and develop STEM skills. We share how we are using survey data, collected at the initiation of the program, to generate information about youths’ incoming interests. A key question we investigate in this work is: How can information about girls’ interests be used by mentors as a support for engaging youth in a STEM program? We describe our process for gathering interest-related data, the use of exploratory data analysis and clustering methods, and the ways in which we are working with mentors to provide
summaries and visual displays related youth interest that can be used in their day-to-day practice. admission now
